Annual Fellows Dinner at Virginia Robinson Gardens
Attended by 51 distinguished members, the annual Fellows Dinner was held at the legendary Virginia Robinson estate. The donor recognition dinner began with cocktails served on the Great Lawn Patio. While socializing, guests relaxed on the newly donor-sponsored patio furniture. Musicians played a soothing violin and cello duet in the Yellow Salon of the stately home.
When called to dinner, guests chose where to dine between three beautifully decorated rooms: the Loggia, Formal Dining Room, or Entry Hall. Each room was adorned with elegant floral arrangements that were freshly clipped from the garden. The tables were set with decorative plates illuminated by candlelight, creating an intimate and romantic atmosphere as ominous skies threatened rain. During inclement weather, these three rooms were typically used by Virginia to entertain dinner guests. Following Virginia Robinson’s tradition, the party swiftly moved from the Great Lawn Patio to the main house.
An appetizing meal was paired with a delightful wine as guests enjoyed intriguing discussions. The conversation soon turned to the Friends projects and successful completion of the year’s budget. Maralee Beck and other Friends members highlighted many of the accomplishments made possible through the Fellows’ generous support. Jeanne Anderson was thanked for planning another exceptional year of Fellows special events, including a trip to New Orleans. Jeanne then thanked Janice Jerde for her contributions, which made the travel study program a huge success. Accolades continued as dessert was served. The evening ended with renewed enthusiasm and anticipation of great things to come in the new year.
