The Friends of Robinson Gardens “La Dolce Vita” Patron Gala Reminiscent of Virginia Robinson’s legendary parties, “La Dolce Vita” was the Italian-themed Grand Soiree for the VRG Patron Gala event this year. It was a beautiful, elegant celebration, with every detail thought of to perfection. Glamorously dressed ladies and gentlemen in black tie were greeted by servers offering delicious hors d’oeuvres and champagne. A wine tasting was provided by the charming owners of Accasbel Wines, Nino O’Brien and Jennifer Varsak, who also generously donated the wines for the Gala dinner. On the second floor of the Pool Pavilion, a gem of a card room where Mrs. Robinson used to play bridge was also open for guests to explore. Exclusive Shopping Extravaganza benefits The Friends of Robinson Gardens On Monday, September 26, 2016, the generous winners of last year’s Gala auction prize “Rodeo Drive Shopping Extravaganza with Lunch at Crustacean Restaurant,” had their fabulous experience. Brenda Cooke, Adrienne Horwitch, Nancy Krasne, Barbara Marcus, Ricki Ring, and Kerstin Royce enjoyed the specially planned day. Nicole Antoine, along with help from Leslie Kavanaugh and Barbara Marcus, and Kerstin Royce organized the day with a kick-off at the exclusive penthouse/rooftop of Burberry’s, where the designated shoppers got to sip champagne while viewing the latest off-the-runway Burberry Collection. The ladies were then introduced to Burberry make-up products and were invited to return for make-up consultation and applications in private rooms. With Burberry gift bags in hand, the guests proceeded to Michael Kors. Entering through the store doors signed “Closed for a Private Party,” the group was able to sip wine and nibble sweets…

The Friends of Robinson Gardens will present the Spirit of Beverly Hills award to Joni Smith at the 2016 La Dolce Vita Patron Gala on October 1, 2016 The Spirit of Beverly Hills award is given annually by the Friends of Robinson Gardens to an individual who, like Mrs. Robinson, has a deep commitment to community, cultural, and charitable causes. In her day, Mrs. Robinson was deemed the “First Lady of Beverly Hills” because she championed and cared about social and cultural causes. Joni Smith is a woman of today, who embodies those same commitments through her work as one of Los Angeles’ most prominent community and philanthropic leaders. Joni makes a difference through her tireless efforts. She serves on the Music Center Board of Directors, the Board of Art Center 100, the Blue Ribbon Board and the Council of the Library Foundation Board.
