A Glamorous Tradition Continues
On May 16, 2015, Virginia Robinson Gardens will open its doors wide for a special day. The house and gardens will be transformed for the “2015…into the garden Masterpiece Tour.” This annual fundraising event includes a self-guided tour of three Westside private gardens and the Robinson estate, as a design showcase, with each room embellished by well-known florists and designers. Concierge and VIP van level ticket holders will be able to visit a special fourth private garden.
The designer list, to date, includes Nicole Antoine/Frette, Kathleen Spiegelman, Christofle, Cartier, White Design, Contemporary Catering, and Kenneth Boyer. Florists include Greenwood Gardens, Brad Austin, Silver Birches, The Flower Box, Yamaguchi Bonsai Nursery, Sweet Pea, Eric Solberg, Ricardo Luna, Beverly Hills Flower Gallery, Lotus & Lily Floral Events, Flora Lux, Santa Barbara Garden Club, Beverly Hills Garden Club, and Pasadena Garden Club.
The ticket to this event also includes a luncheon on the Great Lawn catered by The Kitchen For Exploring Foods, a fashion show, and a boutique of many chic and unique vendors.
The Grand Marshal is actress and author Victoria Tennant. Ms. Tennant is also presenting a talk on April 22 and June 2 at Virginia Robinson Gardens about her recent book, Irina Baronova and the Ballets Russes de Monte Carlo. Information about this event is elsewhere on this website.
This annual Garden Tour has been called “the most glamorous (event) of its kind in Southern California.”
For the last 27 years, the Friends of Robinson Gardens, the non-profit support group of Virginia Robinson Gardens, has devotedly produced the Garden Tour to enhance the first estate built in Beverly Hills. Virginia Robinson Gardens is now a National, California and Beverly Hills Landmark. This estate was developed over a 66-year period by Harry and Virginia Robinson, owners of the Robinson Department Stores.
