Dominique Vialar, owner of Art Couture, never thought she would be a clothes designer, let alone make a living at it…in America!!! Schooled to be an art director, her first job happened to take her from Paris, France to Casablanca Morocco, where she realized very quickly that she had nothing to wear and she that didn’t like anything in the stores. She decided to buy a piece of fabric in the old Arabic city and set out to make a top and a skirt, fancying a kind of a ‘boho by Saint Laurent’ look. At the end of the month, she had orders for it from colleagues, friends, and neighbors.
