Olivia Meadows put together a very creative cookie decorating event on February 10, 2024, at The Virginia Robinson Gardens. The New Generation members included Olivia, Yasi Moshtael, and Madeline Lindsay. New Generation member Caitlyn Hartigan, Board member Natalie Gordon Beiser, and President Lynn Whitaker were not able to attend. Two Executive Board members, Elaine Stein and Evie Carlson, and past President Betty Goldstein joined the event as well.

Olivia assembled a bright colored bag for all those attending which included a parchment paper mat, frostings, decorations, oatmeal mix, shortbread cookies in a heart shape, recipes for the cookies and the granola, tools to use in decorating the cookies, and cupcake papers for sprinkles. Included in the goodie bag was a pen and a card featuring one of Linda Meadows’ beautiful paintings. Everyone had a wonderful time!
Past President Betty who spearheaded this New Generation of members said, “The morning was filled with a wonderful feeling of energy and camaraderie. I am so excited to have these young women as part of the Friends of VRG.”
A big thank you to the VRG staff, April Walton, Branden Santos, and Pamela Davis with their assistance at this event!
The next meeting will be held on April 13, 2024, at 10:30 am and will be a “Member Plus One” 90-minute tour of the Gardens. Betty explained, “Our New Generation Friends will be taking a tour of the Gardens and can invite a prospective member to participate in the tour. We would like to double their size.
They are also willing to mentor an interested person; so if you have a daughter who might be interested, this is a nice way to introduce them to the New Generation and the Gardens.”

A couple of us were lucky enough to show up for a meeting and happen upon this lovely and refreshing group of young ladies. What a treat…both the cookies and THEM!
