"Joseph Winchester Robinson opened The Boston Dry Goods Store in downtown Los Angeles in 1883. In 1891, the Boston Dry Goods Store was incorporated into the J. W. Robinson Company. J. W. Robinson was the first fine department store in Los Angeles, California.

I worked at the Pasadena store in the early 60’s. I started in the yardage department and moved over to girl’s accessories during the Holidays. I transferred to the LA store where I worked until 1968 in the fashion jewlery department. Loved woking for JW Robinson
