Message from President Betty Goldstein

“All the flowers of all the tomorrows are in the seeds of today.”

Dear Friends,

I would like to start this message with a huge thank you to our past President Patti Reinstein who led us through two of our most successful years in participation, recruitment and revenue. In 2018-2019 and 2019-2020, we had one wonderful Garden Tour, two Galas, exceptional Educational programs, new Member programs and many more events. Our membership expanded to an all-time high, and under her management and with the support of the board of directors, a terrific job was done, and we owe Patti and the past board a large debt of gratitude. And we will not forget that her leadership also sustained us through these last more difficult months.

When the Friends of Robinson Gardens was formed in 1982, all shared a common goal to assist and support the preservation and restoration of the estate and gardens. The Friends work every year to accomplish this and much more. And along the way we have developed deep and wonderful friendships.

Our goal to support the Virginia Robinson Gardens has not diminished, and the need has become greater.

We are now finding ourselves in a new world. It may be challenging in many ways, but it can also afford us the ability to find new opportunities and creative solutions. We will use this time wisely. And we have already started; we are currently updating all our systems and revamping our communication abilities. With restoration funds, we are restoring the estate to its rightful beauty, so it will be even more beautiful when you return.

I have been blessed with a vibrant new board; every member has accepted their positon with enthusiasm and energy. Our board committees will continue to work on Education programs, gardening classes, membership and Garden Tour, so when the time comes, we will be ready. We also welcome new ideas and suggestions.

We are on new ground, and our board recognizes the challenges ahead. We believe with the support of our membership and the eagerness of our board, we will be in a strong position as we move forward into this new year.

Enjoy, have a great summer, and thank you for your support.

With gratitude,

Betty
