Rental Fees – Marriage Proposals
  • $1500 – the couple and a photographer/videographer for two hours*
  • $2500 – the couple + 10 guests and a photographer/videographer for two hours*
  • $3500 – the couple + 20 guests + small bites and a photographer/videographer for three hours

* For exclusive use of the Gardens, the fee is $3500 regardless of the number of guests up to a maximum 20 guests

Payment Terms
  • A signed contract with FRG is required. 50% deposit due upon signing and is non-refundable.
  • Security deposit is also due upon signing.
  • 50% due 30 days prior to the event and is non-refundable if event is cancelled less than 30 days prior to the event. Any cancellations must be received in writing.
Licenses and Permits
  • Renter is responsible for obtaining and paying for all licenses or permits required by any city, state, or other governmental authorities including:
    • Assembly (for groups 50+)
    • Parking/valet
    • ABC Liquor license (security required for groups 75+)
    • Generator
    • Tent/canopy
    • Solicitation (for non-profit fundraising events)
  • All licenses and permits must be received 30 days prior to the event. 
Insurance
  • $2 million general liability, $1 million personal injury with a $1 million limit for each occurrence and $500,000 for damages to rented premises.
  • If liquor will be served, the liability insurance must include host liquor liability.
  • All insurance certificates must be received 30 days prior to the event.
Included for Events
  • A limited selection of tables and chairs
  • Use of catering kitchen
  • Limited use of electrical outlets for lighting and sound (a generator may be required for larger installations)
  • Restroom facilities
  • Use of dumpster on the property
  • Limited parking: 20 spaces. There is NO PARKING on Elden Way.
Not Included (events or marriage proposals)
  • Food, service, beverages
  • Tableware, glasses, and utensils

*VRG can provide a list of preferred vendors for valet, catering, rentals, and floral decor.

Accessibility

Many areas of VRG are not wheelchair accessible.  There are many places with stairs and uneven pavement.  Appropriate footwear is encouraged.

Other Rules & Regulations
  • Since VRG is a beautiful historic property, preservation of the site is of utmost importance.
    • A site visit prior to contract signing is required
  • Caterers
    • Unless on FRG’s approved list, caterer must complete a walk-through no less than 3 weeks prior to the event.
  • Run of show is required one week prior to the event and must include the number of staff onsite.
  • No smoking anywhere on the estate. No candles/open flames are allowed.
  • Sound checks are mandatory if amplified music will be played.
  • For events with children, a lifeguard for the pool is required.
  • No furniture can be re-arranged in any interior or exterior space without prior approval.
  • No materials can be taped, glued, tied, or nailed to any ceilings, walls, floors, or furnishings to any interior or exterior space.
  • All non-rented areas are off limits to the renter, its guests, and independent contractors.
  • Rules & regulations must be followed by all event participants, including planners, vendors, and guests. Renter must inform any independent contractors it hires of VRG’s rules & regulations.
  • Sorry, no weddings, political or religious events.
Other Information
  • Maximum clearance through driveway arch – 7 feet in height and 8 feet in width. A load-in guide will be provided.
