Suzanne Rheinstein is an internationally recognized interior designer and the owner of Hollyhock, the renowned home furnishing and accessories shop, known for its unique antiques and decorative pieces. Her signature style is often described as elegant civility – “fewer things but better things” – encompassing a mixture of beautiful objects, furniture styles, personal art, painted surfaces, and great attention to comfort, textures, details, and light.
Suzanne’s newest book, Rooms for Living, was published in October to rave reviews. In Rooms for Living, she shows how to achieve welcoming and serene environments in both casual and formal settings. With chapters focusing on types of rooms, the book is a master class in how Suzanne achieves harmonious living spaces through the thoughtful use of texture, color, and proportion.
Her first book, At Home: A Style for Today with Things from the Past (Rizzoli, November 2010), focuses on six of her signature projects, including her homes in Los Angeles and New York City. Each of the projects is documented in extensive, loving detail. The book is in its fifth printing and the Wall Street Journal named it a best seller.
Suzanne is this year’s Grand Marshal for De Colores – The Art of Botanical Seduction, Robinson Gardens Annual Garden Tour event on May 14, 2016.
