Spotlight on Luke Anderson

Each month we spotlight a volunteer, staff member, docent, donor, or sponsor of Virginia Robinson Gardens (VRG) — those that have made an impact on the organization. We want to let you know about these wonderful people and corporations that give so much to the Virginia Robinson Gardens and to the community, and what they do that is so impactful.

This month, we spotlight Luke Anderson, a dedicated Friend of Robinson Gardens Board Member. Luke along with Betty Goldstein is co-chairing this year’s Garden Tour City of Angels, which under their amazing leadership, is sure to be a fabulous event!

We asked her these three questions:

1.  How did you first learn about VRG, and what inspired you to become a Friend?

I became aware of VRG through researching and selling Real Estate in Beverly Hills. I was thrilled to discover the rich history of Beverly Hills’ very first luxury estate, so I signed up to volunteer as a guide for the Garden Tour. I had so much fun on the Tour; I joined the Friends right away and volunteered for the next Garden Tour, which has now become a rite of passage each spring!

2.  What’s your role – How do you contribute to VRG?

Does sweat equity count? I hope so! VRG is my other full-time job! I’m a Board member and Co-Chair of the “City of Angels” Garden Tour 2020, which is going to be a blast!

  1. Can you share a favorite VRG memory with us?

My husband would like me to say it was dancing together at Rick’s Café Américain Patron Gala last summer, which of course was a wonderful moment. But I really enjoy my time meeting with the other Board members and sharing our ideas about how to grow VRG programs to make them even more fun and accessible to children — my daughter included!
