Each month, we spotlight a volunteer, staff member, docent, donor, or sponsor of the Virginia Robinson Gardens (VRG) — those that have made an impact on the organization. We want to let you know about these wonderful people and corporations that give so much to The Virginia Robinson Gardens and to the community, and what they do that is so impactful.
This month, we spotlight Sharon Gart, a wonderful and dedicated Friend of Robinson Gardens and Fellow Member.
1. How did you first learn about VRG, and what inspired you to become a Friend?
I have my Auntie, Elaine Stein, to thank for introducing me to VRG. I used to attend lectures as her guest and enjoyed it & the group so much I was inspired to become a Friend.
2. What is your role – how do you contribute to VRG?
I contribute to VRG by being on the Garden Tour Committee & being responsible for doing pre-tour for that event. I think of myself as a helper & a cheerleader for all things VRG.
3. Can you please share a favorite VRG memory with us?
I have so many years of favorite VRG memories but a really fun memory was last year’s pre-tour. It was such fun playing Vanna White to the pre-tour group and engaging with them regarding not just the upcoming tour but all their favorite Garden Tour memories. Everyone had great stories and sharing them really energized us all for the upcoming garden tour and all things VRG!
4. Please add any additional information you would like to share!
Spending time at VRG and engaging with all the “Friends” is so inspiring and rewarding. I love the lectures and events. They are so beautifully put together & curated. It’s wonderful to see, learn from & interact with so many inspiring individuals on a wide array of topics. My tank feels full after every event.
