Volunteer Opportunities

Children’s Docent Program
If you enjoy interacting with children, grades 2–5, we invite you to join our children’s docent program. Our team of trained docents leads children through planned activities that foster an understanding of home vegetable gardens and a respect and curiosity for the natural environment. This county-wide school program welcomes over 1700-2400 school children per year! If you would like more information on becoming a children’s docent, please contact April Walton at [email protected] or (310) 550-2040.

Adult Docent Program
If you are a history buff and enjoy meeting new people consider becoming an adult docent. Our docents lead guests through guided tours of the legendary estate and gardens (Circa. 1911) and deliver the narrative as to the historical significance of the first estate of Beverly Hills, including the social history that overlaps with the “Golden Age of Hollywood" and the “Gilded Age of America.” If you would like more information on becoming an adult docent please contact April Walton at [email protected] or (310) 550-2040.

Garden Volunteer
Get your hands dirty in the Gardens! There are always pruning, digging, transplanting and clean-up jobs to be done. Learn what goes into the creation of a lavish, sub-tropical garden. Due to its scope, maintaining the estate’s iconic features is a group effort. If you would like more information on becoming a garden volunteer, please contact April Walton at [email protected] or (310) 550-2040.

Volunteering at the Virginia Robinson Gardens is a great way to meet new people, a wonderful opportunity to learn new skills, and the perfect solution to regularly enjoy the Gardens.
